Norco AgriSolutions have been serving customers since 1948 with 26 stores across NSW and QLD Animal Nutrition mills and an in-house commodity trading team. No matter whether our customers are growing breeding or after general or more specific technical advice our in-store teams are there to help with their subject matter knowledge and expertise.

About the role:

We are now looking for a Commody Trader to join our Toowoomba team on a permanent full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable Trader or a Junior Trader to grow with the support of the team.

You will be responsible for the purchase and sale of grain and meals for Norcos Animal Nutrition mills Norcos Members and external customers.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Maintain key customer and supplier relationships.
  • Develop trading strategy to actively promote grain sales and purchases.
  • Ensure maintenance of grain trade profitability.
  • Manage stock to customer demand (seasonally).
  • Provide key customers with grain price forecasts and feedback.
  • Monitor and manage logistics and freight.
  • Complete annual sales forecasts and other regular reporting.
  • Understand the grain position each day and Norcos exposure to the market.
  • Manage all customer queries in a timely and professional manner.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in a commercial field with a minimum of 5 years relevant trading experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Understanding of rural Queensland and New South Wales communities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships using highly developed listening interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • You will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to think proactively in developing business strategies with a flexible can-do attitude.
  • Knowledge of Delivered Container Terminal (DCT) trading would be highly regarded.
  • Previous exposure to producers/growers and consumers would be highly regarded.
