Our team develops customer-facing features for Australias most-visited media websites alongside the underlying content management systems and services. We leverage a cloud-first modern tech stack with a fully automated CI/CD DevOps environment to craft world-class high-performance high-availability web applications within small autonomous Agile squads.
As a Video Engineer within our Platform Engineering team youll build video services that scale to large audiences. Youll also implement design deliver and support complex video solutions and help resolve operational issues faults or changes in our Video Streaming and Ad Tech Platforms.
Qualifications :
What youll bring:
Knowledge of Broadcast TV Media technology and OTT streaming
Proficiency in MPEG-DASH HLS CMAF MPEG
Hands-on Experience with AWS Cloud Architecture and AWS Media Services
Experience writing video technical requirements and specifications.
Expertise in video quality optimisation including encoding ladders and compression tuning.
Familiarity with container formats such as MP4 (ISOBMFF) and CMAF including segmenting muxing and stream packaging for live and on-demand delivery.
Understanding of digital video fundamentalsincluding compression distribution formats and signalling
Familiarity with video transport protocols such as RTP RTMP SRT UDP Zixi and RIST.
Familiarity with contribution hardware and signal processing in baseband or ST 2110 workflows.
Understanding of advertisement insertion workflows and DRM.
Strong debugging analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable but not essential;
Experience in IAC (CloudFormation Terraform CDK Python)
