POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Project Management and Performance the Project Manager Strategy System & Quality Improvement (SSQI) is responsible for the following: project management; project scope and time management processes; communications; quality project risk and procurement management and Project documentation. The Project Manager is also responsible for development of and monitoring project budgets. The incumbent will have demonstrated experience in project management and coordination excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) excellent presentation and networking skills and demonstrated success in partnership development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integrate and coordinate all project plans to create consistent coherent documents used to guide both project execution and project control. Includes planning estimating and scheduling the defined work and ensuring the work is authorized

  • Carry out the project plan. Coordinate and direct the various technical and organizational interfaces

  • Manage strong healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that project delivery expectations are clearly defined and met

  • Coordinate changes across an entire project (i.e. influence the factors that create change to ensure that the change is agreed upon; determine that a change has occurred; and manage the actual change when and as it occurs).

  • Initiate and authorize the project or phase

  • Develop a written scope statement as the basis for future project decisions. Subdivide the major project deliverables into smaller more manageable components. Formalize acceptance of the project scope. Control changes to the project scope

  • Identify the specific activities that must be performed to produce the various project deliverables. Identify and document interactivity dependencies. Estimate the number of work periods that will be needed to complete the individual activities. Analyze activity sequences activity durations and resource requirements to create the project schedule. Control changes to the project schedule

  • Determine resources (e.g. people equipment materials) and quantities to perform activities. Develop an estimated approximation of the costs of the project. Allocate the overall cost estimate to individual work activities. Control changes to the project budget

  • Identify which quality standards are relevant to the project and determine how to satisfy them. Evaluate overall project performance on a regular basis to provide confidence that the project will satisfy the relevant quality standards. Monitor specific project results to determine if they comply with relevant quality standards and identify ways to eliminate causes of unsatisfactory performance

  • Identify document and assign project roles responsibilities and reporting relationships. Obtain the human resources needed assigned to and working on the project. Develop individual and group competencies to enhance project performance

  • Determine the information and communications needed by the stakeholders (e.g. who needs what information when they need it and how it will be given to them). Ensure needed information is available to project stakeholders in a timely manner. Collect and disseminate performance information (e.g. status reporting progress measurement and forecasting). Generate gather and disseminate information to formalize a phase or project completion

  • Decide how to approach and plan the risk management activities for a project. Determine which risks might affect the project and document their characteristics. Perform a qualitative analysis of risks and conditions to prioritize their effects on project objectives. Measure the probability and consequence of risks and estimate their implications for project objectives. Develop procedures and techniques to enhance opportunities and reduce threats to the projects objectives. Monitor residual risks identify new risks execute risk reduction plans and evaluate their effectiveness throughout the project life cycle

  • Ensure that employees are provided with and use the appropriate training and/or procedures equipment material to perform assigned duties. Ensure that all employees perform work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO Corporate/Departmental policies and procedures. Ensure that appropriate action is recommended for those employees who do not work in compliance with the Act

  • Coordinate and manage implementation of strategic directions and priorities

  • Develops and delivers presentations reports proposals briefing notes or other as needed

  • Develops evaluation frameworks and surveys

  • Plans stakeholder events and consultations

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in a health related program or a related program (Essential)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification by a recognized organization (Preferred)

  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience (Essential)

  • Experience in a health care setting (Preferred)

  • Data Management including advance use of Office 365 and Sharepoint (Essential)

  • Ability to foster effective communication and collaboration to achieve project objectives (Essential)

  • Ability to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders (Essential)

  • Exceptional organizational skills to ensure all project components are well-coordinated and deadlines areconsistently met (Essential)

  • Ability to deliver clear and impactful project updates and presentations to stakeholders (Essential)

  • Ability to adjust project plans and strategies in response to changes or unforeseen challenges (Essential)

  • Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge ofcorporate/departmental policies and procedures related to health and safety (Essential)

  • Criminal Record Check (Essential)

* Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for academic requirements

Effective March 29 2021 CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test practical exam or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested. Bilingualism (French/English) will be validated by a language proficiency assessment conducted by a third-party provider. Candidates will be required to meet the minimum linguistic profile prior to the date of hire.

Relevant du ou de la gestionnaire Rendement et gestion de projet dentreprise le ou la gestionnaire de projet Stratgie systme et amlioration de la qualit est responsable de la gestion des projets des processus lis la gestion de temps et la porte des projets des communications de la qualit de la gestion du risque des projets et de la documentation des projets. Le ou la gestionnaire de projet est galement responsable de llaboration et du suivi des budgets pour les projets. Il ou elle possdera une exprience manifeste en gestion et en coordination de projets dexcellentes comptences en communication ( loral et lcrit) de bonnes comptences en prsentation et en rseautage ainsi quun dossier de ralisations en tablissement de partenariats. Le ou la titulaire de ce poste soutiendra des projets du portefeuille de la gntique.
