About the Role
Join an exciting new initiative at RMIT University as the ARC Training Centre Manager for the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre in Electrifying Australia for a Net-zero Future; a major ARC-funded research centre set to launch in Q3 2025. This five-year grant will drive national and international leadership in decarbonisation through electrification. In this key role you will work closely with the Centre Director to deliver high-quality business management governance and administrative support ensuring the effective delivery of the Centres strategic and operational objectives.
As Centre Manager you will:
Liaise with industry University stakeholders and the RMIT Research Office to manage research agreements project planning and compliance.
Oversee financial operations budget monitoring reporting and business process improvements.
Support strategic positioning of the Centre through the development and maintenance of strong stakeholder relationships.

To be successful for this position you will have:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegiately with a broad cross-section of professionals to achieve significant outcomes including academics industry technologists and administration functions such as contract and finance department from university industry and government organisations.
Evidence of well-developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to manage web sites and use of social media to publicise research activities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate liaise and work with people at all levels both internal and external to the University with tact maturity and appreciation of sensitive issues.
Experience in all aspects of project management with a proven record of successfully managing research and technical projects through to completion.
Demonstrated experience working in a research environment including supporting research activities preparation and submission of project reports
Demonstrated ability to manage complex activities think laterally and provide effective resolution of issues encountered.
Evidence of advanced organisational skills and ability to effectively compile significant reports including those providing financial oversight.
Demonstrated ability to support multi-institutional teams by developing mechanisms to share information.
An appreciation of technology and research activities in academic and/or industry environments implications for publication and protection of intellectual property.
Demonstrated ability to provide professional support for researchers including postdoctoral fellows and HDR candidates.
Excellent team skills and the ability to contribute as a member of a high performing team.
Qualifications: A postgraduate degree or equivalent qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience in a similar role in a large and complex organisation.
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
