Starting Compensation:

Mental Health Therapist II: $56040.97 - $64134.51

Mental Health Therapist II: $58519.71 - $672887.31

annual salary based on education and experience.

Role:

Regular full-time Mental Health Therapist will complete OBRA psychosocial and psychiatric assessments for nursing home residents to define treatment recommendations within contractually required timelines. Therapist will assess older adults with mental illness or intellectual/developmental disabilities to enter nursing homes or guide ongoing care there. Therapist will exhibit a strong ability to build rapport with consumers and nursing home providers. Therapist must exhibit strong assessment and diagnostic skills with older adults. Therapist must function well as part of a team and have good knowledge of community resources. Therapist will work under the supervision of the Mental Health Program Director and Program Coordinators.

Job Specific Requirements:

Prior experience working with older adults with mental illness is required.

Experience working with older adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities is desirable.

Prior experience working in a community mental health system is preferred. Experience in working with electronic medical records preferred. Ability to work as part of a team of professionals in a public mental health setting is required. Strong assessment and diagnostic skills are required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Licensure requirements:

For Therapist I - Masters degree with Michigan licensure either LLMSW TLLP LLPC and the ability to obtain full licensure within 2 years of hire. Promotion to Therapist II upon receipt of full license.

For Therapist II - Masters degree with Michigan licensure either LMSW LLP or LPC.

LMSW preferred.

Strong clinical skills and an appreciation for older adults are required.

Strong relationship-building skills preferred.

Valid MI drivers license is required.
