- Develop and review P&IDs control system block diagrams and I/O lists for gas conversion systems.
- Review DCS/PLC systems instrumentation and control valves for combustion air flue gas and burner management.
- Ensure compatibility with existing plant systems and simulator platforms (e.g. WSC models).
- Support FAT/SAT activities for control systems and coordinate with vendors and EPC contractors.
- Support demolition and retrofit planning for legacy coal systems including nozzles feeders and ductwork.
- Support installation loop checks tuning and commissioning of control systems.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (e.g. HAZOP) and implement recommendations from ePHA reviews.
- Ensure compliance with emissions limits safety codes and applicable Indiana engineering standards.
- Maintain technical documentation including control narratives alarm rationalization and test procedures.
- Provide progress updates and technical input for project schedules and budget forecasts.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 8 years of experience in process and control engineering preferably in power generation or fuel conversion.
- Proficiency with DCS platforms (e.g. Emerson Ovation) control logic development and instrumentation design.
- Familiarity with combustion systems flue gas treatment and natural gas conditioning.
- Strong understanding of NFPA ISA and ASME codes relevant to boiler and fuel systems.
- Experience with simulator integration and model validation (e.g. WSC or GSE platforms).
- Knowledge of auxiliary systems such as FGR SCR and oxidation catalysts.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with contractors regulators and internal stakeholders.
