Benefits To You
We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees including mental health coverage.

Position Highlights
The Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro Oregon is hiring two Supervisor 3s to support our largest departments: family law and judicial support. The Domestic & Juvenile Supervisor will oversee 14 employees including our Behavioral Health Analyst and our staff who handle domestic and juvenile cases. The Domestic Judicial Support & Facilitation Supervisor will oversee 13 employees including Judicial Assistants and Courtroom Clerks who support domestic judges the Family Law Assistance Program and the regional remote Northwest Oregon Facilitation Initiative.
Both positions will partner with our courts Trial Court Administrator and Deputy Trial Court Administrator in supervising coaching motivating and mentoring staff. You will create training programs for new and existing employees. You will review and approve work schedules leave requests and timesheets as well as track attendance and protected leave. You will assign and monitor work provide feedback and performance evaluations investigate and resolve staff grievances and handle disciplinary actions. As hiring needs arise you will develop position descriptions and lead all aspects of recruiting hiring and onboarding.
You will stay abreast of changes in laws rules policies procedures business processes and other guidelines that affect our work. You will analyze court processes identify opportunities for improvement recommend changes and implement solutions. You will also maintain a collection of procedure manuals and resource materials.
As part of your essential customer service role as supervisor you will work with attorneys state agencies businesses and the public to resolve the most complex and sensitive inquiries and complaints. You will attend court management team meetings and make recommendations related to budget staffing policies and procedures. You will also join a variety of OJD and local court committees and will liaise between our court and partner agencies.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
(These must be evident in your resume or work history.)
The qualified candidates must have an associates degree in business management or a related field.
AND
Five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory or staff-support experience. Qualifying OJD experience would be at the equivalent of Court Operations Associate or above.
Note: Your recent experience must reflect staff support or supervision directly or through lead workers of staff performing a wide variety of clerical analytical and technical support duties. The supervisory experience must include most or all of the following:
special projects
developing and updating policies and procedures
hiring or recommending hiring
training
assigning and reviewing work
evaluating performance
responding to staff concerns and
handling disciplinary actions.
OR
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge skills and abilities for the position.

Requested Skills and Attributes

Experience supervising staff with demonstrated success in training motivating assigning and evaluating work disciplining and coaching.
Experience and skill communicating with tact and diplomacy in customer service functions that include providing direct service to the public and customers explaining rules policies procedures and decisions and resolving moderate-to-complex issues for customers on behalf of an employer.
Experience creating and updating business processes.
Experience recognizing addressing and managing conflict in a business or professional setting.
Experience and proficiency using software programs databases and electronic file management.
Experience working in a court system or other legal environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with domestic relations (divorce child support parenting time etc.) and juvenile (delinquency and dependency) case processing is preferred.
Bilingual Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
These are full-time positions and the work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. These positions are FLSA-exempt and ineligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.
Occasional after-hours or overtime work including weekends or holidays may be required.
These positions may periodically rotate to other departments.
Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances highly stressful situations or trauma including people who may be angry hostile confused or frustrated.
Long periods of sitting or standing while using a computer.
Regular use of the following equipment: telephone OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors copy machine fax machine and scanner.
