JOB SUMMARY:
Design and develop programs. Setup check programs and operate automatic NC machine tools and/or CNC machining equipment.
Understand program format work from operational data defining and coding tooling fixturing and machine arrangements. Arrange mount and secure tooling.
Plan operating sequenced to check fixture/work positions tooling clearances speeds feeds etc. and adjust machine console to correct deviations from program specs.
Recommend tooling applications/operational sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual machining requirements.
May setup for and/or instruct Machine Operators of lower classification diagnose operating difficulties and make adjustments.
Work from detailed or involved part drawings or specifications.
Work is subject to procedures relating to your department.
Perform other duties as instructed or directed by direct supervisor.
Responsible and accountable for quality workmanship and accuracy.
Effectively work with designers providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed parts.
Support and work with all other departments.
Support the Companys Quality Policy by understanding & following the policies procedures as they apply to your job & department.
Support the companys Lean Activities.
