What is the opportunity
This is a challenging key role within the Capital Markets Platform Financial Control team of Canadas largest company frequently ranked as one of the top companies to work for in Canada.

You will be joining the Wholesale Platform Finance team which is responsible for our global financial close process and establishes the overall control framework for Capital Markets.
The Manager Wholesale Platform Financial Control will be managing part of the team that ensures the controls & governance framework for Wholesale Finance are well fortified and will be responsible for coordinating and providing guidance across Capital Markets Global Finance teams (across Canada US UK and APAC). You will lead process improvement initiatives impacting our controls & governance addition this role will have the opportunity to partner with multiple functional stakeholders and senior management across Finance and have exposure across different business lines.

What will you do
Build effective working relationships across the global finance teams CFO Controls Office and other key finance stakeholders to improve sharing of financial information and identify opportunities where best practices can be leveraged across the regions.
Simplify and improve the design and execution of existing controls oversight reporting while adapting to changing business needs and reporting requirements.
Maintaining a strong control environment by proactively identifying control weaknesses and make recommendations to resolve; implement new controls where possible.
Manage several key control environment oversight risk rating processes for each region and line of business and through consolidation providing insights to senior management on areas of risk and opportunity.
Perform platform elimination entries while ensuring reconciliations standards of documentation packages as well as the monthly and quarterly disclosure deliverables are complete and accurate.
Manage the accurate and timely execution of the monthly Global Attestation Committee materials with oversight on consolidated Capital Markets results.
Coordinate updates to the Key Control Inventory for SOX Testing and report on key internal audit metrics (SOX deficiencies Self-Identified Issues etc.)
Support and coordinate audit-related requests.
Maintain a high standard of partner service quality by taking ownership and accountability of incoming requests and proactively respond to ad-hoc inquiries and requests for financial information and analysis by senior management or other business partners.
What do you need to succeed
Must Have
2 years of relevant professional experience preferably in the Financial Services Industry
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills ability to work with people at all levels within the organization.
Excellent analytical thinking and acute attention to detail.
Highly motivated collaborative and self-starter attitude.
Ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously amidst tight deadlines.
Strong proficiency with computer applications such as Excel (vlookups data validation macros) and PowerPoint
Nice to Have
Professional designation: CPA (or working towards it)
Experience with Tableau Desktop and Serve
Exposure to Capital Markets businesses
Knowledge of RBC financial systems and associated procedures
Experience with workflow design tools such as Visio
