Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records
and reports. This role supports the organizations financial operations by assisting with accounting
activities month-end and year-end closings ensuring compliance with accounting standards and
providing insights through financial analysis. The Senior Accountant also plays a key role in maintaining
internal controls improving financial processes and supporting strategic decision-making.
Onsite Work Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Indianapolis Indiana
(This is not a remote opportunity.)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reconciling general ledger account balances.
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures.
- Assisting with year-end external audits.
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close.
- Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assessing internal controls including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
- Collaborating with operational management on financial metrics.
- Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Flexibility to meet changes in duties responsibilities and activities assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3-5 years accounting experience (Construction industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (Acumatica i360 Traild)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables VLOOKUPs etc.)
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Must pass a criminal background check
Bonus Skills & Competencies
- CPA Certification
- Experience in public accounting and audit
- Experience working with Acumatica Traild and i360 (Salesforce)
