Job Description
Our client a global leader in manufacturing is seeking a Plant Engineer to join its team in DuPage County IL. Reporting to the Plant Manager this role is responsible for leading plant maintenance operations with a focus on reliability safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will drive performance through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Maintenance Excellence and the Sonoco Performance System (SPS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead plant safety programs and ensure compliance with all federal state and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Implement and sustain a reliability-centered maintenance strategy to improve machine uptime OEE and reduce operational costs.
- Provide leadership to the maintenance team ensuring high standards of equipment performance and plant condition.
- Identify and support technical training and development for maintenance staff.
- Manage capital projects participate in budgeting and control departmental spending.
- Apply root cause analysis to critical equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to drive operational improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years leading a maintenance department in a manufacturing setting or 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and ability to implement preventive measures.
- Proficient in root cause analysis tools (FMEA 5 Whys etc.) and developing countermeasures.
- Knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic and predictive maintenance systems.
- Experience with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Background in TPM or reliability engineering preferred.
- Strong leadership communication and project management skills.
