Job Description
We are seeking a experienced Industrial Engineer to work on a product development team representing the quality aspect. The right candidate will drive quality into the product and process. Candidate will be passionate about continuous improvement and use a Quality Planning approach similar to the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product development tams to improve design and manufacturing quality with the goal of preventing late-stage issues. Use tools such as D/P FMEA Process Flow Mapping Control Plans Measurement Systems Analysis and Process Capability Studies to enhance First Time Quality.
- Initiate and support the implementation of process improvements that are identified during APQP process.
- Support the product development team by communicating quality status to management and external customers.
- Partner with Manufacturing to implement effective gage/ inspection strategies.
- Mentor the product development teams on the use and application of quality tools.
- Lead the product development team in problem solving.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred). Mechanical Engineering or related fields will be considered.
- Practical job knowledge obtained in a manufacturing environment.
- 10 years of Quality Engineering / Manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated use of tools such as FMEA MSA and Capability Studies.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process validation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with problem solving tools such a as Shainin / Red X fault free fishbone 5 whys.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 AS9100 / 9145 and AIAG APQP - PPAP standards.
- Have some statistical analysis background.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
