PROGRAM/PROJECT COORDINATOR Office of the Provost will provide broad administrative support and perform complex program coordination and planning for the MIT Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) and its Outreach Training Program. The MIT Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) provides free confidential and conflict-free business advice to entrepreneurs from the MIT community through teams of experienced volunteer mentors. Since its creation in 2000 VMS has helped over 4700 entrepreneurs by providing team mentoring access to experts in a wide range of fields via Office Hours and a range of seminars. VMS currently uses 200 volunteer mentors to support 300 active ventures. VMS has an Outreach Training program that has helped over 130 organizations around the world establish their own formal venture mentoring programs based on the MIT VMS Model.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree or equivalent; a minimum of two years of administrative support program coordination or related experience; excellent organization decision-making and written and verbal communication skills; ability to cultivate and maintain productive positive relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels to build and preserve the VMS community and network; strong analytic and interpersonal skills including excellent professional judgment and discretion with confidential information; ability to self-motivate and to work independently or as part of a team; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of MIT policies and systems and proficiency in the use of Windows platform and Microsoft office products; and databases and familiarity with web design email marketing and survey platforms. This position is hybrid with a blend of remote and on-campus work and a minimum expectation of 3 days per week on-campus. On-campus presence with an early morning start time is required several days per month during Outreach training programs.
Some travel and/or evening and weekend hours may be requested based on particular events and programs.
