Job Description

Purpose Statement:Anser Charter School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Middle School Paraprofessional to support academic growth and independence in our middle school program. This position will directly supervise and support one 6th-grade study skills class one 8th-grade study skills class and proctor an 8th-grade IDLA (Idaho Digital Learning Alliance) online Career and Readiness course. Essential Functions:Provide supervision and academic support to students during study skills classes in both 6th and 8th gradesPromote executive functioning time management organizational skills and homework completion in a supportive environmentFoster a calm focused and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to self-directed learningProctor the IDLA Career and Readiness course for 8th-grade students by monitoring progress ensuring engagement and providing assistance as neededMaintain accurate attendance and monitor student progress; communicate with teachers about any concerns or needsSupport students in accessing online content navigating course platforms and developing self-advocacy skillsCollaborate with classroom teachers counselors and administrators to ensure alignment of support strategiesModel respectful responsible and compassionate behavior in alignment with Ansers character education valuesSalary Information: $17 per hourPERSI benefitsFull medical dental vision Employee Assistance Program and life insurance benefitsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant coursework preferredPrevious experience working with middle school students or in a school setting is highly desirableStrong communication organizational and problem-solving skillsComfort using technology and learning management systems (e.g. IDLA or similar platforms)Patience flexibility and a positive attitude toward supporting students with diverse needs and learning stylesAnser Charter School may be a good fit for you if you:Flourish in a collaborative environment that deems alignment consistency and fidelity to programs and school design integral to school and student in a diverse intellectually challenging environment where reflection and improvement of professional practice are regarded as hallmarks of individual and group growth and all children - regardless of race ethnicity gender socio-economic status or home language - can achieve at high levels AND believe that the teacher must actively engage students to make that happen. Can develop a curriculum that is engaging rigorous and aligns with Common Core State Standards and school passionate about what Anser has to offer staff students and Our School: Anser Charter School a public school chartered by the Idaho Charter School Commission demonstrates 25 years of successful operation. Anser is named after the Latin word for goose and seeks to embody the supportive and collaborative characteristics of its namesake. The school serves approximately 580 students K-8. We are located in Garden City and within the boundaries of the Boise School District. Anser is an Expeditionary Learning (EL Education) school rooted in effective teaching and learning practices as a means to ensure that all students are provided a rigorous curriculum embedded with components of strong character and service-learning. The curriculum is organized around learning expeditions where collaboration cooperation and teamwork are integral to the school design. Active pedagogy is supported by working with teaching partners and through a school culture that practices shared and distributive leadership reflection deep dialogue meaningful social interactions and aligned professional development.
