The Mobile Team operates within Collective Healths Member Experience organization focusing on delivering an exceptional digital experience. This team is responsible for developing and refining the Collective Health mobile application providing users with robust self-service functionalities that enable them to navigate their healthcare with ease and fully leverage their benefits.
As an experienced Lead React Native Developer youll take full ownership of our mobile React Native application spearheading its technical direction and growth. Were seeking a curious and collaborative leader who thrives on tackling complex architectural challenges and enjoys mentoring and empowering other developers. Youll be a vital contributor to our Member Experience team reporting to the Engineering Manager.
What youll do:
- Lead React Native Development
- Architect develop test and deploy robust high-performance and user-friendly mobile applications using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Technical Ownership
- Take ownership of significant features and modules within our mobile applications from conception to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Offshore Team Leadership
- Lead mentor and technically guide offshore development teams ensuring clear communication alignment on technical standards and accountability for deliverables.
- Code Quality & Best Practices
- Promote and enforce best practices in code quality testing performance and security. Conduct thorough code reviews and advocate for scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with product managers UX/UI designers backend engineers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver impactful mobile experiences.
- Android Understanding
- Leverage your understanding of Android native development principles to optimize React Native performance troubleshoot platform-specific issues and ensure seamless integration with native modules when necessary.
- Performance Optimization
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks ensuring smooth and responsive user interfaces across a variety of devices.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting
- Effectively debug complex issues across the mobile stack including React Native native modules and API integrations.
- Stay Current
- Continuously research and evaluate new mobile technologies frameworks and best practices to keep our applications at the forefront of innovation.
- Technical Documentation
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- 8 years of professional experience in mobile application development with a super expert-level proficiency in React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring junior engineers or offshore teams.
- Solid understanding of Android development principles including Android SDK Java/Kotlin and Android Studio. (While not a primary development language for this role strong comprehension is crucial).
- Deep understanding of the React Native ecosystem including Redux React Navigation and various UI libraries.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript.
- Experience with native module development for React Native (iOS/Android) when necessary.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM MVI).
- Experience with RESTful APIs asynchronous programming and data persistence.
- Proficiency with version control systems particularly Git.
- Experience with unit testing integration testing and end-to-end testing frameworks for React Native.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for creating intuitive performant and delightful mobile user experiences.
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based out of our San Francisco office with the expectation of being in office at least two weekdays per week. #LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location qualifications experience and internal equity.
