We are seeking a System Administrator for an onsite opportunity in Washington DC to do the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers virtualized environments and associated infrastructure.
- Install patch upgrade and harden operating systems applications and security tools.
- Administer Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and other enterprise services.
- Monitor system performance security events and ensure adherence to compliance and operational standards.
- Apply DISA STIGs and other hardening guidelines to systems and networks.
- Perform daily system maintenance activities including backups restores and system health checks.
- Manage user accounts permissions and access controls across multiple environments.
- Maintain and support enterprise storage solutions and backup systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and network issues affecting servers and end-user environments.
- Document all system configurations changes and standard operating procedures.
- Provide continuous monitoring scanning results and asset inventory reports as required.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation security incident response and POA&M management.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning testing and documentation efforts.
- Coordinate with engineers cybersecurity specialists and vendors for system improvements and upgrades.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of system administration experience OR 8 years of system administration experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server administration Active Directory management and virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (RMF NIST 800-53 CNSS Policies).
- Experience with system monitoring patch management and backup solutions.
- Ability to administer troubleshoot and maintain classified systems and applications.
- Must have an active Top Secret / SCI clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience supporting Department of Commerce (DOC) or similar federal agencies.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and server/storage hardware platforms (Dell Cisco VMware).
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Office 365 and cloud migration initiatives.
- Must possess one of the following certifications such as COMPTIA Network and/or Security.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Foundation certification must be completed within 6 months.
