Effective July 1 2025 the wage for this position increased by 3%. The wage listed in this job posting reflects the increase.

***The Department of Corrections is currently offering a hire incentive bonus of up to $15000.00 to newly hired Mental Health Clinicians 2. The incentive bonus will be paid in two equal installments minus mandatory deductions. The first installment will be paid 90 calendar days after the first day of employment and upon demonstrating an overall mid-acceptable performance rating. The second and final installment will be paid upon the employees successful completion of the probationary period. Payments will be due within sixty (60) calendar days of such request. To receive an incentive employees are expected to agree to a three-year term of employment with the Department of Corrections.***

The Department of Corrections Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician 2 based at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) in Anchorage Alaska.

You Will Be Doing:
Under the supervision of the Mental Health Clinician 3 this position will:
  • Develop implement and maintain treatment plans for inmates assigned to caseload.
  • Respond to referrals from staff and make appropriate recommendations including conducting mental status examinations clinical interviews suicide assessments and risk assessments.
  • Prepare schedule and facilitate psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic groups for inmates in open population.

This position is located at the Anchorage Correctional Complex a secure facility for incarcerated offenders. This position will work closely with a team of correctional officers mental health clinicians and medical staff.

Some positions require the incumbent be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Counselor. This requirement will be addressed in the job posting.
