Job Description
Travel RN/Stepdown Contract Role
Location: Altoona PA 16601
Shift: Variable shift
Duration: 12-weeks contract
Weekly Pay: $1728 $1908
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients transitioning from ICU to med-surg or progressive care
- Assess monitor and document patient conditions vital signs and responses to treatment
- Administer prescribed medications and manage IV infusions
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide patient and family education related to conditions treatment and post-discharge care
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards
- Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania (with online license verification)
- Certifications (required):
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Strong critical thinking assessment and communication skills
