Job Description
Certified Surgical Tech/CVOR Contract Role
Location: Williamsport PA 17701
Shift: Variable shift 8 Hours
Duration: 12-weeks contract
Weekly Pay: $1600 $1760
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate instrumentation equipment and supplies for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Perform surgical scrub duties and maintain strict sterile technique at all times
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to changing circumstances
- Count instruments sponges and sharps in compliance with hospital policy
- Handle specimens and ensure proper labeling and transport
- Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization after surgery
- Collaborate effectively with registered nurses and other OR team members
- Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative activities
- Adhere to hospital infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives as required
Requirements:
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Strong knowledge of CVOR equipment instruments and procedures
- Excellent communication teamwork and problem-solving skills
