Job Title: Medical Physicist
Job Summary:
The Medical Physicist will be an integral part of the healthcare team providing expertise in medical physics to ensure the safety efficacy and efficiency of medical treatments. This role will mainly focus on the application of physics principles in the clinical environment emphasizing therapy physics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical physics support to radiation oncology departments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and quality control measures.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan and optimize patient-specific treatment plans.
- Participate in patient safety meetings and contribute to the development of treatment protocols.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet departmental needs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master s degree from an accredited institution in medical physics or a related field.
- ABR/CCPM Board certification or Board eligible in therapy physics.
- A solid understanding of radiation physics and its applications in a clinical setting.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend hours.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical medical physics particularly in radiation therapy.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in quality assurance and safety protocols within clinical environments is a plus.
