The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a KC-46 Mission Control System Engineer (Experienced or Senior) in either Tukwila WA or Everett WA depending on employee preference.
This role will primarily be responsible for supporting the KC-46 Mission Control System. The main responsibilities include requirements development/verification technical subcontract management (TSM) hardware/software integration technical issue resolution Lab/Aircraft testing and FAA/Military airworthiness certification.
The Boeing KC-46 Pegasus is the USAFs new aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling cargo/passenger transport and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per USAF specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft using either the Hose & Drogue systems or the Boom. The KC-46 is also equipped with a suite of self-defensive and tactical situational awareness systems that allows the aircraft to get closer to the fight when supporting combat missions.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Leads test and validation to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Oversees and monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems and provides support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Makes recommendations for technological investments
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
8 years combined educational and technical experience in electrical engineering RF engineering avionics computer science or related fields
Preferred Qualification:
Experience with mission control systems
Experience with flight management systems
Experience with military communication systems
Experience with military navigation systems
Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process and implementing corrective actions
Experience with FAA airworthiness certification
Experience with Military airworthiness certification
Experience with Equipment Manager Responsibilities for Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
Experience with MIL-STD-1553 data bus analysis
