Responsibilities
- The DON sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe timely efficient equitable and patient-centered care.
- Regularly makes rounds and interacts with patients to ensure patient satisfaction ** This is a must for this role**
- Maintains a current knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures the facility is prepared and compliant.
- Works as a partner with the CEO and ensures that there is an open line of communication and positive interaction
- Plan direct and coordinate nurse services.
- Direct supervise and evaluate work activities of all nurse personnel.
- Provide clinical leadership strategic and long term goals for the nurse staff.
- Determine assign and assess performance objectives for the nurse department.
- Organize coordinate develop and review policies procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory compliance and quality care standards.
- Responsible for the quality of care operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
- Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility providing performance goals feedback and development opportunities.
- Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting.
- Direct and conduct recruitment hiring and training of personnel.
- Provide direct care as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BNA) degree required; Masterss Degree preferred.
- Five or more years nursing experience is required.
- Three or more years of nursing management or administration experience are required.
- The current state RN license is active and in good standing in Georgia
