Responsibilities

  • The DON sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe timely efficient equitable and patient-centered care.
  • Regularly makes rounds and interacts with patients to ensure patient satisfaction ** This is a must for this role**
  • Maintains a current knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures the facility is prepared and compliant.
  • Works as a partner with the CEO and ensures that there is an open line of communication and positive interaction
  • Plan direct and coordinate nurse services.
  • Direct supervise and evaluate work activities of all nurse personnel.
  • Provide clinical leadership strategic and long term goals for the nurse staff.
  • Determine assign and assess performance objectives for the nurse department.
  • Organize coordinate develop and review policies procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory compliance and quality care standards.
  • Responsible for the quality of care operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
  • Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility providing performance goals feedback and development opportunities.
  • Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting.
  • Direct and conduct recruitment hiring and training of personnel.
  • Provide direct care as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BNA) degree required; Masterss Degree preferred.
  • Five or more years nursing experience is required.
  • Three or more years of nursing management or administration experience are required.
  • The current state RN license is active and in good standing in Georgia
