About the role

The Environmental Engineer is responsible for a diverse range of activities including coordinating the environmental impact assessment process including the completion of Review of Environmental Factors (REF)and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation to safeguard Essential Energy against legal liability. You will identify and provide advice on broader environmental constraints and risks associated with Essential Energys network. Your responsibilities will include managing the research development and implementation of project work packets coordinating service providers developing contract tenders undertaking environmental audits providing specialist technical advice and managing relationships with government departments regulatory authorities solicitors and other stakeholders.

This role will be based within the Essential Energy footprint with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment.

About You

You are a dedicated professional with an understanding of environmental planning processes in NSW applicable to the development of land and routes for power distribution and substations. You possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues. You are a flexible team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of negotiating with and influencing stakeholders. You have a high degree of detail orientation and strong time management skills.

About your skills

You have demonstrated skills and capacity to successfully manage individual responsibilities and complex issues within a team environment. You possess strong professional written and verbal skills to prepare documentation and communicate outcomes with relevant areas of the business including senior management. You have professional stakeholder and relationship management skills strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and coordinate community government and internal consultations. You are a flexible team player with the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment promoting others to take ownership and accountability for their work. You have strong time management skills excellent planning and organizational skills and a high degree of detail orientation. You have sound knowledge of computer operations and business systems relevant to the role including project management software stakeholder engagement/consultation software Google Maps GIS and GPS.
