Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren MI three times per week at minimum.

What Youll Do
As a Software Engineer for Commercial Software you will play a key role in developing high-performance back-end services and systems. Your responsibilities will include:
Software Development: Build scalable and efficient backend services with a strong foundation in software development databases and service integration.
Software Design: Understand and implement elegant maintainable software design ensuring the development of solutions that are both effective and sustainable.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of existing services while working on developing new solutions ensuring continuous availability and performance.
Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and stakeholders across organizations including product design and other engineering functions.
Scrum Participation: Actively engage in the teams scrum ceremonies deployment activities and other DevOps tasks.

Additional Job Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field.
- 2 years of software engineering and development experience utilizing industry-standard design patterns in common languages such as Java including object-oriented concepts.
- 2 years of experience delivering Java/JEE business solutions utilizing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). Knowledgeable in test-driven development techniques (e.g. TDD JUnit mocks).
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure including the development of microservices using CI/CD with one of the JVM languages.
- Knowledgeable in multiple interface patterns including RESTful APIs or event-based messaging.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) GitHub Artifactory and similar systems along with experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
- Familiarity with iterative and incremental development on product-focused teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively translate feedback needs and solutions.
- Focus on strong teamwork and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams. Ability to clearly connect with peers as well as both business and technical-focused teams.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience developing 12-factor microservices utilizing Continuous Integration Build and Delivery with Spring Spring Boot and platform and infrastructure-as-a-service technologies and capabilities along with their corresponding services (object store configuration management service registries etc.). OCF and/or Azure cloud experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience or strong knowledge of Big Data technologies and development within the Hadoop ecosystem including Hadoop HBase Hive Scala Spark Sqoop Flume Kafka and Python.
- Experience or strong knowledge of Oracle and/or Postgres NoSQL with Yugabyte and/or Cassandra and/or Cosmos with competency in writing basic SQL and experience with JPA being a plus.
- Familiarity with the ELK stack and dashboarding within Kibana and Grafana to support production applications (end user customer or business stakeholder visible).
