Job Description
Job Summary : The Junior Writer in the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Engagement is responsible for creating compelling and persuasive written materials to support donor relations alumni engagement and fundraising initiatives. This role requires strong writing editing and research skills to effectively communicate the institutions mission and strategic priorities. Essential Functions (Responsibilities) : 1. Content Creation: Write and edit high-quality materials for donor relations alumni engagement and fundraising campaigns Develop content for newsletters social media event invitations and other communication channels. Collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging. 2. Research and Storytelling: Conduct research to gather information and insights for writing projects. Identify opportunities for storytelling to highlight the impact of donor contributions and alumni achievements. Translate complex concepts into clear and engaging content. 3. Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit written materials to ensure accuracy clarity and consistency. Proofread content for grammar spelling and punctuation errors. Maintain high standards of quality in all written communications. 4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with advancement and alumni engagement teams to support strategic communication goals. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for content development. Communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders through regular updates. 5. Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks related to writing projects such as organizing files and managing deadlines. Support the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Physical Demands
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift at least 15lbs routinely. Must be able to navigate an office setting.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in communications marketing English or a closely related field. 1-3 years of experience in writing editing or related roles. Strong writing editing and research skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
