What are Aladdin Data and Process Engineering

Data is at the heart of Aladdin and increasingly the ability to consume store analyze and gain insight from data has become a key component of our competitive advantage. Aladdin Data team is responsible for the data ecosystem within BlackRock. Our goal is to build and maintain a leading-edge data platform that provides highly available consistent data of the highest quality for all users of the platform notably investors operations teams and data scientists. We focus on evolving our platform to deliver exponential scale to the firm powering the future growth of Aladdin.

Process Engineering engineers design and build large scale applications data pipelines process integrations for computation processes and distributed systems. They partner with data and analytics experts to deliver high quality analytical and derived data to our consumers.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with team members in a multi-office multi-country environment.
• Deliver high efficiency high availability concurrent and fault tolerant software systems.
• Work with product management and business users to define the roadmap for the product.
• Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems identifying issues and roadblocks.
• Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all phases of development.
• Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews unit regression and user acceptance testing dev ops and level two production support.
• Be a leader with vision and a partner in brainstorming solutions for team productivity efficiency guiding and motivating others.
• Drive a strong culture by bringing principles of inclusion and diversity to the team and setting the tone through specific recruiting management actions and employee engagement.
• Providing L2 or L3 support for technical and/or operational issues.

Qualifications:

• B.E./ ./ MCA or any other relevant engineering degree from a reputed university.

Skills and Experience:

• Over 4 years of hands-on experience in software development with a strong foundation inCore Javaand related technologies.
• Proficient inobject-oriented programming (OOP)anddesign patterns with a proven track record of delivering high-quality maintainable and scalable software solutions.
• Experienced in developing robust enterprise applications usingJavaSpring FrameworkSpring BootHibernate andMicroservices architecture.
• Skilled in working with bothrelational databases(e.g.MySQLSybase) andNoSQL technologies(e.g.CassandraRedis).
• In-depth understanding ofconcurrent programming with experience designinghigh-throughputhigh-availability andfault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Proficient in modern development tools and practices includingGitMavenCI/CD pipelinesunit and integration testing frameworks andmocking tools.
• Strong capabilities insoftware architecture design with a focus ontest-driven development (TDD)and clean code principles.
• Excellentanalytical thinkingproblem-solving andcommunication skills enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrates a strong interest infinanceandinvestment processes with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Familiarity withhigh-scale distributed technologiessuch asKafkaMongoDBApache Ignite andRedis.
• Exposure to buildingmicroservicesandAPIsusingRESTKafka orgRPC.

Our hybrid work model
