What Were Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Career Center to support the mission and vision of the University within the Baylor University Career role will oversee a team of 1215 professionals dedicated to developing and implementing best practices that enhance career outcomes for students in the School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Graduate Business Programs Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences and the sciences within the College of Arts & Sciences (CASA). Other STEM majors are included.

The Director will lead efforts in data strategy employer engagement and cross-campus collaboration to ensure students are well-prepared and connected to meaningful career opportunities. This position is critical in advancing the universitys mission by fostering strong partnerships with faculty staff university leadership and external employers.

A Bachelors Degree in business leadership or recruiting related field and five years of relevant work experience career services higher education administration or a business-related field is required. A Masters Degree experience working with STEM health sciences or graduate business student populations and proficiency in career services platforms (e.g. Handshake Big Interview Jobscan and PowerBi) is preferred.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead mentor and manage a team of 1215 staff members including the data analytics and First Destination Survey (FDS) reporting teams
  • Manages/supervises Assistant Directors Associate Directors Senior Career Success Professionals Career Success Professionals and student workers
  • Foster a collaborative innovative and outcomes-driven team culture

Strategic Career Development

  • Design and implement scalable career development strategies tailored to ECS Graduate Business Robbins College STEM majors and CASA sciences
  • Conduct one-on-one and group career coaching of students
  • Provide classroom workshop and content support to support the career needs of the students
  • Implement a strategic plan to increase student engagement with resources and tools
  • Ensure alignment with national best practices and evolving workforce trends

Data & Outcomes Management

  • Oversee the collection analysis and reporting of career outcomes data including the First Destination Survey
  • Provide proactive placement data tracking & collection strategies to measure ECS/STEM career outcomes including the collection analysis and reporting of placement information to university and school leadership faculty and staff and parents and students
  • Use data insights to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty staff and university leadership to integrate career readiness into the academic experience
  • Collaborate with employer relations staff to expand opportunities for student internships co-ops and full-time employment
  • Develop strong employer/alumni relationships and proactively market students to opportunities

Institutional Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of career outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with NACE and MBACSEA standards and other relevant guidelines

Other Duties

  • Assists the Assistant Vice Provost and Senior Director with ECS/STEM career team budget development and review
  • Work on special projects as assigned Some projects include but are not limited to team employer relations training programs research projects student soft skill development I2E Distinguished Scholars and admissions and orientation tours
  • Participate in university-wide initiatives and committees as assigned
  • Represent the Career Center at events conferences and professional associations
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director / Assistant Vice Provost
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
