Job Description
As a Principal DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for managing the Cloud services infrastructure and automation crucial for the release processes of code and applications through development test and production environments. You will lead the adoption of DevOps and SRE best practices across the Engineering teams and develop strategies and tooling to allow them to own code to be continuously built tested deployed and monitored as a part of a modern cloud-native platform.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the cloud infrastructure and resources with attention to cost and resilience
Lead initiatives to improve the monitoring and observability of platform products and cost.
On-call support for incident management and disaster recovery.
Lead the implementation and adoption of automation solutions for build test and deployment.
Partner with the Engineering teams to improve our continuous integration and testing system.
Lead initiatives and improvements to the tools and in-house frameworks.
Experience and CompetenciesThe following experience is expected to be successful in this role.
Required10 years of experience in DevOps roles
Proficient in managing infrastructure with cloud providers preferably AWS.
Proficient with declarative infrastructure and continuous delivery as code tools (Terraform CloudFormation Argos CD Github Actions).
Proficient in Linux administration and networking.
Proficient evangelizing DevOps best practices to Engineering teams.
Proficient in designing systems for High Availability Disaster Recovery Performance Efficiency and Security.
Proficient programming in Python or shell.
Proficient in at least one monitoring platform (DataDog desirable)
DesirableAWS Certified SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
CKA CKAD and CKS certification is a good to have
Bachelors degree in Computer science or similar fields.
