Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Tier 2 Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our growing Security Operations group. In this role you will serve as a critical escalation point within the Threat Intelligence team focusing on threat detection analysis and response coordination. You will enrich correlate and contextualize threat data to produce actionable intelligence that helps proactively defend the organization against evolving cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Threat Analysis & Enrichment
- Perform in-depth analysis of cyber threat intelligence from multiple internal and external sources (e.g. OSINT commercial feeds ISACs).
- Correlate intelligence findings with internal telemetry (e.g. SIEM EDR firewall logs) to identify potential threats.
- Conduct indicator of compromise (IOC) and Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) mapping to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Incident Support
- Support incident response efforts by providing timely and relevant threat intelligence during active security events.
- Collaborate with Security Operations Center analysts to triage alerts and with Tier 3 responders on complex investigations.
- Reporting & Communication
- Produce high-quality tactical and operational threat intelligence reports tailored for different stakeholders (technical executive operational).
- Present findings to internal teams management and possibly external partners.
- Tool & Feed Management
- Maintain and tune threat intelligence tools feeds and platforms.
- Evaluate new sources of intelligence and recommend improvements to threat detection capabilities.
- Threat Hunting
- Proactively hunt for threats using intelligence-driven hypotheses and behavioral analysis.
- Assist in developing detection use cases and tuning security technologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 6 years of a combination of related post-secondary education technical certifications or technology related work training internship experience etc. may be credited as related experience on a month-per-month basis.
Preference will be given to those who possess:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity Information Security Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience); and
- 24 years of experience in a cybersecurity or threat intelligence role ideally in a SOC or threat intel team.
Preferred Certifications:
- GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI)
- Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (CTIA)
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Other relevant certifications a plus
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) SIEMs and EDR tools (e.g. Splunk MISP CrowdStrike Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Trellix SentinelOne).
- Solid understanding of malware analysis threat actor profiling and campaign tracking.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. Python PowerShell) is a plus.
- Knowledge:
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK NIST and cyber kill chain frameworks.
- Understanding of global threat landscapes and threat actor motivations.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR HIPAA PCI-DSS) as they relate to threat intelligence.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong critical thinking problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
