Girton Grammar School is seeking an experienced academic leader with a passion for student engagement tojoin our school community as the Head of Character and Culture in January 2026.
This is a three-year fixed-term Position of Responsibilityand is supported by an ongoing underlying teaching position.
About the Position
The Head of Character and Culture at Girton Grammar School is a pivotal leadership position responsible forshaping the values ethics and community spirit of the school with a particular focus on students in Years 7to 12. This role involves providing strategic direction nurturing positive relationships and ensuring a high qualityenvironment that fosters personal growth leadership and resilience.
The Head of Character and Culture leads and mentors the Heads of House promotes student well-being andexemplary behaviour and collaborates with the Head of Student Engagement to enhance a rich diverse andbalanced co-curricular program. This role is central to instilling a strong sense of belonging respect andcommunity among students and staff ensuring that the schools core values are embodied in daily practices.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and strategies that foster ethical decision makingand character development while creating an inclusive and respectful school culture. The Head ofCharacter and Culture actively monitors student progress student reflections and supports staff in aligningpractices with school values. They also develop leadership potential within the Heads of House and engageseffectively with students staff parents and the wider school community.
This leadership role requires visionary management and organisational skills exceptional communicationand interpersonal abilities and a passion for cultivating character and culture. The Head of Character andCulture is dedicated to inspiring students to achieve their best contribute to their community and emergeas compassionate ethical leaders equipped to make meaningful contributions to society.
