The Sr/License Practical Nurse at the Amherst - College Parkway will perform patient care health teaching and health counseling in an oncology setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed independent provider; assists in the goal of individualizing the care of patients in an attempt to support the patients to adapt to the disease process and achieve the highest level of wellness; performs routine nursing care procedures; performs venipuncture; assists with dermatologic procedures including numbing biopsy sites and assisting provider with biopsies; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature in-service meetings and workshops. This position may rotate at Roswell Park Main Campus and Niagara Falls Satellite Campus as needed.Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense Requirement
License or permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing schools LPN program.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and a background working in an ambulatory clinic setting. Ideal applicants will also have direct experience caring for oncology patients and experience with ambulatory dermatology clinic including surgical dermatology procedures. A degree in a health-related field is strongly preferred.
