Description of Work

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.


Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governors Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporarys skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agencys culture process procedures and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state.

This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $32.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).


This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 695 Palmer Dr Raleigh NC 27603.

The duties of this position include:
  • Assisting the Grant Manager and Project Director to deliver the core outcomes which have been designed to identify and reduce variation in the use of the states prescription drug monitoring program. This will include assisting the Grant Manager in making phone calls and setting up technical assistance training through scheduling assistance.
  • Sending via print digital or face to face messages on and for training opportunities data distribution agreements and technical assistance.
  • Booking and manage the offsite and virtual engagement activities across the State equal to two events per week to cover all 100 counties.
  • Creating learning assistance tools (power points informational flyers etc.) a range of materials. The Delivery Manager will assist the Grant Manager in identifying developing and maintaining key contacts across a range of health care related sectors.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in communications public relations public affairs media journalism English or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in communications public relations or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
