Job Summary
The Elementary Instructional Coach is responsible for providing curriculum support to teachers and support staff district wide through staff training consultation and communication to elevate instruction to positively impact student achievement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Conducts model lessons in the areas of mathematics English Language Arts Scienceor Social Studies.
- Meets with teachers data coordinators and other stakeholders to review data and planfor instruction.
- Supports teachers with the development of unit plans and lesson plans.
- Supports teachers in the creation of common formative assessments to determinemastery of the grade-level standards.
- Helps to plan and coordinate staff development with topics and presenters.
- As requested by teacher or principal works with individual teachers or educationalassistants to provide intervention strategies and/or curriculum planning.
- Works with principals and teacher committees to organize and coordinate grade-leveland departmental meetings.
- Assists with K-12 textbook adoptions which may involve physical lifting.
- Performs other duties requested by principals supervisors or director of schools.
Minimum Education and Experience
- A bachelors degree in education or a closely related field.
- Three years of successful teaching experience strongly preferred.
