Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Therapeutic Behavioral Service (TBS) Specialist under the administrative/clinical supervision of the Clinical Supervisor provides Therapeutic Behavioral Services to clients their families and/or significant others as needed. The TBS Specialist transitions clients in community settings and works to provide support including education and consultation for parents and/or caregivers case coordination and symptom management and monitoring. The TBS Specialist is expected to meet the programs productivity target for billable service each week. Services take place in the home the school and in the community

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Accept assignment of cases from the supervisor to provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services for clients their families and/or significant others as needed including: community organizations schools other health and social service professionals the justice system and other agencies involved with the client.
  2. Accept case assignments stepping down from a higher level of care from the clinical supervisor and jointly develop tasks and interventions that implement treatment goals.
  3. Provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services including but not limited to:
    1. development/review of the clients treatment plan
    2. crisis work providing assistance and support in crisis situations
    3. support including education and consultation for families and/or significant others regarding the clients mental illness
    4. individual interventions
    5. symptom monitoring and self-management of symptoms
    6. assistance in increasing social support skills and networks
    7. coordination of necessary evaluations and assessments including referral and linkage to other healthcare behavioral health care and non-health care services to avoid more restrictive levels of treatment.
    8. coordination of all services identified on the clients treatment plan
    9. necessary follow-up to determine if services are adequately meeting the needs of the client
    10. access to resources in the community
    11. assistance with overcoming obstacles and barriers to treatment participation
  4. Provide services to each client in accordance with medical necessity and as outlined in the clients treatment plan.
  5. Recognize the significance of the parent and/or caregiver in the clients life and demonstrate the skills to engage the client primary family and other supportive adults in the treatment planning process.
  6. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings supervision and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the clients treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in social work psychology nursing or related human services field.
  • LSW licensure preferred.
  • Experience working with children adolescents and their families.
  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths aptitudes and abilities.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agencys insurance company.

The salary for this position is $40000 per year.
