LAUNDRY AIDE Casual - Extendicare New Orchard Lodge

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team you will provide clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies procedures and work routines.
What youll be doing
- Processing all house linens washing dryingand placing linen on carts for delivery to units
- Processing of residentspersonal laundryincluding washing and drying
- Continue processing other linens during shiftsuch as isolation dietaryand housekeeping linens as necessary
- Cleaning of laundry equipment i.e. removal of lint from dryers
- Labelling of residents personal clothing
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control quality assurance fire safetyetc.
- Participates in staff meetings as assigned attends in-service education programsand completes all mandatory education as assigned.
- Collaborates with other departments on tasks such as ensuring residents clothing items are delivered to the correct room assisting in locating misplaceditems etc.
What you bring
- Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (non-slip soles and enclosed) as you will be handling considerable heavy lifting reaching squatting kneeling crouching and moving equipment climbing laddersand exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
- Ability to work safely following established safety practices and procedures.
- A criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening is to be provided.
