The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced or Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City OK.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2) Bombers or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the E-7A providing expertise in the design and sustainment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of E-7A design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircrafts lifecycle

• Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness

• Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design

• Supports the development maintenance or modification of system component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups

• Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

• Contributes to supplier development test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals

• Supports system components designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation

• Trains others

• Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science

• Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels Hydraulic Systems and/or Flight Controls

• Able to create execute review and manage structural design models

• 5 years of experience working conceptual preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables

• 5 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

• 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5 SolidWorks Siemens NX)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance

• Experience validating or verifying Hydraulic Systems Fuel Systems Flight Controls Actuation and Controls

• Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills

• Experience with analytical communication and problem-solving skills

Experienced (Level 3) - $88400 - $119600

Lead (Level 4) - $107100 - $144900
