Logistics - Supply Chain Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator to join the Procurement Team at Smit Lamnalco. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient planning execution and coordination of logistics and supply chain activities - from order placement through to delivery at our global contract locations. The position is essential for optimizing periodic shipments to complex regions and for supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures a new ERP system and preferred warehousing and inventory control modules.

You will play a key role in ensuring that agreed delivery and replenishment schedules to various global locations are met. As such you will serve as the primary interface between Technical Superintendents (requests) Buyers (arrangements) Suppliers (supply) and Transport Departments (logistics). Once a Required On Site (ROS) date is issued you and the Buyers will be jointly responsible for the timely and accurate delivery.

Additionally you will support and lead the implementation of structured procurement processes at both tactical and operational levels. You will work closely with the Procurement Manager to manage procurement activities related to vessel dockings subcontracted services and operational vessel needs.

Accountability and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute periodic shipments to global locations in line with the Quarterly and Bi-annual Order and Transport frequencies/ schedules.
• Manage supplier expediting follow-up documentation and delivery tracking in close coordination with the Buyers and Goods Receipt team.
• Oversee container and freight preparations including goods inspection and critical spare part handling.
• Lead logistics planning for the region with specific focus on SGS certification processes and documentation compliance in support of or in alignment with The Transport Dept.
• Actively participate in the upcoming Material Master Data creation initiative and future foreseen implementation of the new ERP/Warehouse module.
• Support inventory control and management at the NL based warehouse and cooperate with the regional teams in developing global Warehousing & Inventory Management procedures. 
• Coordinate airfreight and sea freight logistics globally ensuring arrival within the agreed periodic intervals along with optimal transit-and cost efficiency.

Qualifications :

Requirements for the position

• Proven experience with shipment logistics to African countries including SGS certification processes.
• Minimum MBO/HBO in Logistics Supply Chain or related field.
• 5 years of relevant logistics or supply chain experience preferably in a maritime or oil & gas environment.
• Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems (implementation and user-level involvement). Experience with INFOR-LN is a plus.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding (sea and air) customs procedures and international shipping documentation.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages (e.g. French or Portuguese) are a plus.
• Excellent planning communication and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate must be living in the Netherlands and being able to work in the Netherlands (being a local or in possession of a work permit). The language in our office is English.
