Job Duties
Conducts a fiscal review and oversees the budget throughout the fiscal year for the designated appropriations.
Ensures that financial transactions are charged correctly to the appropriation and accurately reflected in financial reports.
Responsible for monitoring purchases and tracking contract encumbrances in the financial system.
Prepares budget requests by gathering and organizing all necessary information for the assigned appropriations.
Meets with and guides department managers in formulating their budget needs providing periodic expenditure information.
Collaborates with budget analysts to consolidate all budget requests into a single submission for the UJS ensuring it meets required formats and established deadlines.
Responsible for preparing and distributing the annual contract listing including ongoing entry review and maintenance of contract information in the accounting system.
Monitors the spending of federal grant funds from a budgetary perspective and reviews costs for their allowability.
Reviews proposed legislation to prepare a fiscal impact analysis.
Monitors monthly revenues from filing fee collections and investigates any deviations from historical data. Prepares cash flow analyses that include various funding scenarios.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; AND
Two years of professional budget analysis experience.
An equivalent combination of education experience and/or training may be considered.
Strong analytical effective communication and writing skills are required.
Attention to detail is required.
Ability to work in a team environment is required.
Advanced working knowledge of SharePoint Excel and Word is required.
Experience with information technology (IT) terminology and budgeting is strongly preferred.
A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
