Human Resources Generalist


Hours: Monday - Thursday

Status: Exempt Full-Time

Reports to: Human Resources Manager


Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering the organizations Human Resources department. Key responsibilities include recruitment unemployment claims benefits administration safety programs and employee relations. The Human resources generalist will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure efficient and effective human resources operations.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supervisors to address and resolve day-to-day employee relations issues ensuring a positive and productive work environment meeting with the leadership team when requested and as needed to review company and employee issues.
  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle including conducting pre-employment interviews coordinating with hiring managers and following up on candidate background checks.

  • Partner with hiring managers to enhance the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with HR Manager to maintain and organize employee files ensuring they are up-to-date and audit-ready.
  • Assist staff with benefit-related inquiries and support the annual open enrollment process ensuring all employees understand their options and are enrolled correctly.
    • Answer employee inquiries and educate on plan details.
  • Oversee the organizations Human Resource Information System ensuring that information is entered correctly up to date and accurate.
  • Oversee Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration ensuring compliance and providing guidance to employees with oversight from the HR Manager.
  • Prepare and manage unemployment claims and provide required documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Employee Relations & Investigations

  • Conduct and document a high volume of investigations-interviewing parties analyzing facts issuing clear findings and assisting with resolution of issues.
  • Advise managers on discipline and conflict resolution to ensure fair consistent practices.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Deliver newhire orientation along with HR Manager and coordinate system access policy acknowledgments and manager introductions.
  • Handle terminations professionally: conduct exit interviews process paperwork retrieve company property and finalize pay/benefits.

Supervision & Teamwork

  • Work under HR Manager guidance to align with department goals supporting the Human Resources Manager with various tasks and projects as needed to share workload and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business human resources industrial relations or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of human resources experience; nonprofit industry experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping methods report preparation and writing techniques.
  • Understanding of federal state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees managers vendors and external contacts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with prompt follow-through.
  • Detail-oriented organized proactive team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening test.
  • Must have a current Nevada drivers license and maintain a clean DMV record.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions

  • You will work in an office environment where driving is sometimes required. You may be subject to sitting standing walking bending lifting squatting pushing pulling and grasping.
