Position Summary
The Snider laboratory studies intermediate filament diseases. This position will support research on Alexander Disease by creating new tools and analysis pipelines to study the cell and molecular effects of mutations in the gene GFAP . The techniques we use for this project are site-directed mutagenesis transfections immunofluorescence imaging confocal microscopy quantitative image analysis biochemical fractionations western blots and related techniques. The project may also entail the preparation of samples for Cryo-EM analysis.
