Were looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Brussels-based team. This role focuses on the operational and financial management of EEDs internal costs from procurement and budget monitoring to audit preparation and internal controls. Youll work closely with colleagues across finance operations and programme teams to keep things running smoothly transparently and on time.

What Youll Do
Youll report to the Director of Operations and work under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer. Your key responsibilities will include:
Tracking and monitoring EEDs operational expenditure ensuring correct allocations across budget lines
Preparing regular financial reports on budget execution and donor compliance
Drafting and contributing to operational budgets and funding proposals for donors
Coordinating procurement and contracting processes for services and consultants especially in EED countries of operation
Performing compliance checks on contracts and financial documentation
Updating and maintaining contract and supplier databases
Supporting audits and ensuring documentation readiness
Providing analytical insight into operational spending and consultant expenses
Coordinating finance and logistics input into EEDs internal events/mission database
Contributing to financial reports for the European Commission and other donors
Supporting the wider finance and operations team with other tasks as needed
What You Bring
You have:
A university degree in Accountancy Finance Business Administration or a related field
At least 1 year of full-time professional experience in financial management audit or grant oversight
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard financial tools
Familiarity with European Commission Financial Regulations or similar donor compliance systems
Full professional fluency in English

Able to keep confidentiality exercise discretion and work professionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Highly organised comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and documentation streams
Calm respectful and collaborative in your working style
Motivated by working in a purpose-driven multicultural environment
Bonus points for:
Experience working with civil society organisations or democracy-support donors
Prior work experience in international non-profits or grant-making environments
Working knowledge of French and/or Dutch
