EORC reports jointly to the Provosts office and to theDivision of Access Opportunity and Community Engagement and partners with units across campusto ensure compliance with Title VI VII and IX the Americans with Disabilities Act the Clery Actand multiple state and federal laws and regulations related to equal opportunity compliance. TheCompliance Specialists are key contributors to this work and have opportunities tocontribute significantly to the Universitys access mission.

Role Summary

Serves as the primary contact for a specific compliance program. Creates and classifies reports in support of a specific compliance program assists leadership in regulatory report creation coordinates communication issuance and assists with the development and implementation of institution-wide policies to ensure compliance with institutional policies and/or laws and regulations.

The Compliance Specialist (Title IX investigator/trainer) will assist in managing compliance with Title IX and would have a key role in ensuring compliant processes related to how EORC manages complaints and resolution processes. The Compliance Specialist (Title IX investigator/trainer will also assist in conducting investigations as needed and will execute ongoing investigations under the Universitys Title IX or Interpersonal Violence and Sexual Misconduct policies. The Compliance Specialist will prioritize Title IX compliance work but will also assist in managing Title VI and Title VII investigations and training as needed. The role would include offering training to relevant campus partners and students assisting in investigations and resolution processes and ensuring students receive relevant accommodations and supportive measures.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Monitors and evaluates institutional practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws applicable to the EORC area of responsibility.
  • Conducts Title IX and EORC training and other training as needed.
  • Presents evaluates and modifies training content to reflect any relevant regulatory changes to ensure effectiveness.
  • Conducts investigations summarizes evidence and drafts reports.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal law as well as University policies.
  • Assists in updating EORC policies with a focus on the Title IX and Interpersonal Violence and Sexual Misconduct policies.
  • Ensures notification is made to relevant parties and assists in determining if a recommendation of interim measures is necessary.
  • Drafts summary documents and shares with appropriate parties such as the Provost General Counsel and Student Affairs.
  • Ensures office confidentiality is maintained.
  • Performs similar or related duties assigned or required.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include but are not limited to the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Collects compiles and organizes reports for a defined compliance program and communicates data to internal and external stakeholders when appropriate.
2. Assists leadership with developing and publishing compliance reports and policies in accordance with established laws and regulations.
3. Audits and serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact to potentially affected units and affiliated organizations ensuring appropriate communications are issued relating to compliance.
4. Collaborates with other institutional compliance subject matter experts to review procedures and make change recommendations to leadership.
5. Creates delivers and monitors records of training programs.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelors Degree

Experience:(3) Three Years Experience

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Advanced degree (J.D. Masters in relevant area etc.)
Experience: Direct experience conducting investigations related to policy or legal compliance.

Priority consideration will be given to candidates who include a cover letter articulating their particular interest in this role.
