Job Description
The Assistant Production Shift Manager position involves leading monitoring and operating equipment on the product line. Responsibilities include guiding team members with keeping the product within specifications and maintaining high quality. Must be able to professionally delegate duties; assist other operators / positions where needed; and assist in the training of personnel. Will identify any maintenance needs on the production line and communicate this to the Shift Manager and/or shift mechanic.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to give instruction and teach others regarding processes and equipment operation.
- Ability to complete paperwork and reports; basic math skills needed.
- Good communication skills both written and oral.
- Good time management skills.
- Good people skills.
- Ability to monitor self and processes to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
- Must be safety and quality conscious.
