The Raytheon team is looking for a Software Engineer II to support our radar programs and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream delivering high-frequency high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon an experienced workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The job location for this opportunity is in Woburn Massachusetts.

What You Will Do:

Design develop and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile collaborative environment delivering build to site multiple times a year.

Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.

Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze implement and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment
  • Experience in software development test and/or integration using C C or Ada
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts
  • Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large complex systems
  • Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
  • Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems
  • Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
