Job Description
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certifications/Licenses
A CNA I or CNAII certification is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Summary
Performs basic nursing skills and personal care activities for patients/residents under the direction of the Registered/Licensed Practical Nurse. Practices within the Nursing Assistants scope and according to Person Memorial Hospital policies/procedures/standards. Under the supervision of an RN also performs telemetry monitoring.
Reports to: Medical/Surgical Director
Responsibilities of the Position
Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Employee will be required to perform nursing aide duties when needed.
