The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $20.76- $24.00/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

In this position you can expect to work in-person three to five days a week starting at our Forestry Headquarters (945 S. Huron St. Denver CO 80223) This position requires movement around the city. Transportation will not be provided. Milage reimbursement is provided. This position will work Monday-Friday 6:30AM 3:00PM. This position is on call.

Denver Parks and Recreations Forestry division is seeking an Operations Assistant to.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Gather and record operational data related to field work and contractor performance and assist with generating basic reports for supervisory review.
Customer service for general forestry requests dispersing calls and emails to appropriate workgroups or providing answers to residents questions
Coordination with forestry planning and programs to assist in 311s emails and calls related to their work Site maintenance and safety updates at the Huron Shop
Manage and coordinate 811/Locate requests for Forestry Operations including scheduling and attending locate meetings and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
Assist with field site visits to support forestry planning tree inspections and contractor oversight including documenting conditions and reporting findings to supervisors.
Update and maintain operational inventories such as equipment materials and tree or site records ensuring records are accurate and current.
Serve as a point of contact for public inquiries providing clear and courteous communication regarding tree operations work schedules and site access as directed.
Support coordination of contractor site check-ins ensuring work is progressing according to schedule and safety requirements and reporting any concerns or deviations to supervisors.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of operational records forms and logs in compliance with city and department standards.
Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment following safety guidelines and reporting hazards encountered during site visits.
Support emergency or storm response efforts as assigned including assisting with field assessments and operations logistics

Comfortable working in outdoor and field environments in varying weather conditions.
Safety-conscious and aware of standard practices for field operations and public work
Experience in parks/forestry construction or similar outdoor work environments is preferred.
Familiarity with reading site plans maps or utility locate markings is desirable.
Basic experience with recordkeeping systems inventory tracking or operational data entry.
Certification or training in utility locating (e.g. understanding of 811/locate request procedures) preferred or required within 6 months of hire.
No advanced degree or professional accreditation in forestry arboriculture or policy is required though coursework or training in forestry horticulture or natural resources is a plus.
ISA Certified Arborist Certification is preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of clerical or technical operational support.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
License/Certifications: By position requires a valid Drivers License at the time of application.
By position requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
