Job Description

Ware Junior Senior High School is seeking a High School Guidance Counselor to fill an anticipated opening for the 2024-2025 school DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan meeting dates/times send reminder notices
  • Formulate the meeting agenda
  • Facilitate the meetings
  • MCAS Testing- Work to co-coordinate the MCAS testing process. Coordinate proctors rooms and assignments- Publication of dates times and places- Reminders to students
  • Responsible for records review/credit assignment for new enrollments
  • Responsible for MCAS competency determination for all graduating seniors
  • Responsible for review of graduation requirements for seniors
  • Responsible for all dual enrollment information and students
  • Organize and chaperone all guidance field trips
  • Responsible for reporting of data to principal and superintendent - College acceptances- College choices- SAT averages- Drop-out statistics
  • Identify students needing summer school
  • Coordinate and facilitate classroom small/large group guidance lessons
  • Collaboration with the VHS Coordinator
  • Crisis Team Member
  • Participates in attendance review team
  • Perform other duties as requested by Principal
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Appropriate licensure certification and experience preferred
  • Familiarity with school-to-career programming preferred
  • Experience developing a comprehensive guidance curriculum
