Job Description

Join our team as a Deputy Manager and make a difference!

Do you want a job where you can help others and have a positive impact on your community Then weve got the perfect role for you.

Our retail outlets provide much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops a furniture warehouse a donation centre two clearance shops and two coffee shops! We also have two online eBay platforms for clothes and general goods and an online furniture store. Its a big operation!

You will be joining a highly motivated hard-working team who are driven to generate income for Ashgate Hospice they achieve this goal by providing a community hub for local families providing quality produce and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to ensure high standard of service to customers expected by the Ashgate Hospice coffee shops is always maintained.
  • Actively support any fundraising promotions as directed by Ashgate Hospice or your Manager.
  • Implement any promotion in the shop as directed.
  • Support the training development and motivation of a team of staff and volunteers.

You will bring strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to supervise motivate and support a team of staff and volunteers. You should have a solid understanding of food hygiene health and safety regulations and experience in customer service stock control and cash handling. Excellent communication adaptability and problem-solving abilities are essential along with a commitment to maintaining high standards and contributing to a positive inclusive team culture.

About Ashgate:

Ashgate Hospice based in North Derbyshire offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses including cancer neurological diseases and advanced heart kidney and lung conditions. Last year we cared for over 2400 people. Our aim is to support our patients by keeping them informed managing their symptoms and improving their quality of life from diagnosis onwards.

We also provide vital support to the people who are important to them offering practical assistance and emotional support including bereavement services.
