Location - Ninewells Hospital Dundee
Grade & Speciality - Consultant Neurology
Dates - 1 July 2025 to 1 July 2026
Rota - Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Details - This is a 10 programmed activity (10 PAs) Consultant post. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute towards the current delivery of both General Neurology out-patient clinics and in-patient support.
The Clinical Neurosciences Department provides neurological services for Tayside and NE Fife serving a population of over 500000. It includes Neurology Neurosurgery Clinical Neurophysiology Neuropsychology and the Chronic Pain Service. There are at present 6 NHS and 4 Academic Neurologists; and 1 Neurophysiologist.
The unit includes 14 neurology beds one with cabling for video EEG monitoring. The Neurology service at present provides outpatient clinics for new and review consultations in Ninewells Hospital Dundee and in Perth Royal Infirmary Perth. This new post will add to the existing complement of ten consultant neurologists (6 NHS and 4 academic consultants) and one consultant neurophysiologist. The successful candidate would undertake three clinics per week.
It is desirable that candidates are included on the Specialist Register for Neurology (or within 6 months) however applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register will also be considered for this locum post. All candidates must have MRCP or equivalent.

Essential Requirements
- Valid GMC Registration with full Licence to Practice
- Right to Work in the UK
- Minimum 6 months of medical experience in this role or a similar role within the UK
