Radiology/Nuc Med Tech Permanent Role - Location: College Station TX 77845
- Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM 07:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 12 per week
- Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions: Quality Assurance:
- Perform imaging procedures (Nuclear Medicine PET Theranostics) per protocol.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure compliance with ACR RAM and manufacturer standards.
- Perform equipment quality control and collaborate with engineers and physicists to maintain performance.
Patient Care & Communication:
- Communicate clearly with patients to identify needs and ensure the correct exam is performed.
- Explain procedures assess patient tolerance and provide instruction to patients and their families while respecting HIPAA regulations.
Patient Safety:
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
- Position patients correctly use proper aseptic/sterile techniques and maintain hand hygiene.
- Prepare the room and equipment for exams including immobilization and shielding techniques.
Radiation Safety:
- Verify and administer correct radiopharmaceuticals according to protocol.
- Screen for pregnancy and educate patients on radiation safety pre- and post-exam.
- Follow proper radioactive waste disposal procedures.
Collaboration & Workflow:
- Work with radiologists physicians nurses and technical teams.
- Ensure proper image transfer to PACS for review and interpretation.
- Report operational issues and assist with inventory ordering supplies and radiopharmaceuticals.
Key Success Factors: - Monitor and communicate patient condition changes.
- Remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Serve as a mentor/trainer for new staff and students.
- Maintain compliance with hospital systems: PACS EMR workflow processes and documentation.
- Demonstrate competency in caring for all age groups from newborn to geriatric.
Education & Certification Requirements: - Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Certifications:
- ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Nuclear Medicine)
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist-NMTCB)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)-must be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- License: MRT-Medical Radiologic Technologist license.
